A megütött pálca rezgései között nagyobb frekvenciájú, kisebb hullámhosszú rezgések is létrejönnek. Az itt kialakuló állóhullámokon még jobban látszik, hogy a csomópontok nem szabályos közökben követik egymást, nem sima, szabályos vonalakat kapunk. Ezek a nagyobb frekvenciájú rezgések az alaprezgésnek nem harmonikusai.
Például az f1=6,27f0, valamint f2=17,57f0.
